Great Food Club has arrived in Yorkshire

Updated: Sep 1, 2018

So you have all been wondering what I do to fill my retirement ……. I am busier than ever…and Great Food Club is just a part!

We all love good food right? And we all love a discount. Great Food Club has recently arrived in Yorkshire and it combines those two wondrous things.

Great Food Club celebrates the best food and drink independents and guides you to them. We passionately believe these businesses make our villages, towns and cities better places to live in. It started in 2010 in the Midlands and over the last year, with the help of a team of regional editors like myself, it’s slowly spreading across the UK. I can’t think of a place more perfectly suited to Great Food Club. Yorkshire is such a foodie county, from Dales to Moors, York to Bradford, with a strong respect for local indie producers, bars, cafes, burger joints, delis… you name it. We don’t like chains right?

So, who’s in the club so far I hear you ask? To name a few…Skosh, The Haxby Bakehouse, and Mr P’s in York, Snap The Yorkshire Recipe Box plus NJ’s in Harrogate … and there are more. But I want you to take a look for yourself.

To give you an idea of the work ahead of me: every business is hand selected and invited to join, there’s no other way in! This means that every Yorkshire place added so far is somewhere I’ve eaten at and loved! As members though, you can rate and review places on the website to ensure we keep our consistency high. It’s not unheard of for businesses to be booted out when standards slip!

It’s free to become a member of Great Food Club and flashing your card at our recommended businesses might just get you a discount or something extra.

So really, there’s nothing to lose by signing up. There is also an online magazine, twitter and Facebook with plenty to read so we can help keep you entertained plus all the food porn you can lay your eyes on over on Instagram. Winner!

If you have any suggestions for great delis, butchers, pubs, restaurants or anything in-between, please do let me know! You can email me on leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you and I’m always on the lookout for the next hidden gem!
